| | I have noticed that when I make a kit or layout that has darker colours, like deep jewel tones, they look much lighter in photoshop than they do anywhere else. For instance, the layout I just uploaded (http://www.digiscrapdepot.com/gallery/new-glasses/1019951.aspx) wasn't nearly that dark in photoshop, in fact, I darkened the pics a bit because they looked too light! Does anyone know how to make darker colours look reasonably similar in photoshop and online?? TIA for any help!! |

| | I designed print materials for over 5 years, and have noticed this pheonomenon. You are correct that the art does look darker when imported into other programs, but usually prints correctly. The only other suggestion I can make is to make sure your monitor settings are correct for printing. |

| | You might want to check out your color management settings to make sure your printer, Photoshop and monitor are all set to the same color profile. Look for a "how to" on this subject (a Google search will bring up some results). There are some interesting and informative articles on this subject. Jst make sure you back up your system settings before changing anything! Hope this helps!

| I've noticed that the quality of the picture goes down when it's uploaded on the internet. It looks much better when your viewing an image that's stored on your computer's hard drive than viewing it online.

| Thank you ladies! I haven't tried printing anything with darker colours yet, I'll give that a try and see if it works properly or not. I have also noticed that different sites I upload to have different "looks" to them as far as colour goes, maybe I'll just save a lighter coloured version of my LO's to put online (since I'm such a huge chicken when it comes to changing settings on my computer! )

| Not too sure about the darkness issue, but as far as the viewing clarity of posted pages, I think a lot of it comes down to the resolution, or "dpi" that individual webpages display at. I believe for most, it's between 72 dpi and 96 dpi ... so, regardless of the resolution you used when you saved your page, simple logistics means the webpage has to reduce the resolution for display purposes - it's something to do with their available bandwidth, I think, and if they displayed all pages submitted at their original resolution, it'd take forever for 'em to load, and they'd run out of bandwidth  |
