Hi Everyone, after lurking here for a few weeks, let me introduce myself.
I'm Anna, SAHM of 2, and totally new to digital scrapbooking. I'm fairly familiar with using GIMP, and started to make my first scrapbook elements about 3 weeks ago. I haven't figured out yet how I can share my creations, and I'd be grateful if you explained how to do it, what file-sharing website to use, etc. But before that I'd love to get some feedback on my first "kit" (this is the first I think might be worth sharing, and I might be totally wrong!)
I can't wait to learn from you talented ladies, and would especially like to meet other GIMP-users; I've been trying to figure out how to create certain effects, but could definitely do with some help.

Hi Anna! First of all Nice work!

Well I'm not a designer, yet, but I think I can help you. You'll need a blog, that's what most designers have and the one I see designers use the most is www.blogger.com. Then for the file-sharing you can use www.4shared.com I think that's the best out there. Well atleast for us who download the freebies. Hope this helps. If I'm not right I'm sure someone else might jump in and give you more information.

Thanks for your reply, Nena!
I hoped to get around having to create a blog, so I linked to my 4share account directly, I'll see if it works this way.
Looked at your layouts, they are great, you are so talented! Do you print them out and put them into an album, or just store it digitally? I've never seen digital scrapbooking stuff printed out, how do they look? Anything like the real thing?

Vicky, at first I didn't understand why you added this. I mean, OF COURSE it's free. I'm a long-long way from asking money for my work, and that would probably take away the fun element, anyway. Right now my best reward would be if anyone used what I've made.

Vicky:

Of course!! How could I forget the most important step of them all!! LoL

Anna:

I've seen people do that, so I guess it's ok. Thanks for looking at my layouts It's nice to hear people compliment your work.

About printing my layouts. No, I don't print them out. I just stored them digitally. I don't know what they look like once printed out I doubt they'll look as good as the real deal.  Maybe later on when I have more layouts I'll start printing them out and see how they look, but I would have to do some research to see where I can get them done the cheapest

You should get a blog. I just got mine a few weeks ago. I still havent done much with it because I'm working on a kit, my first kit actually, I hope people like it I should be done with it this weekend. I'm still learning and reading tutorials as I do it.

How exciting! I'll look out for it for sure!

As for blogging, I think it's just not for me, I don't have time for anything anyway, and totally can't keep track of all those websites I've made accounts.
