I'm using PSPXI and I see the most wonderfull real ribbons and i really want to learn it. I allready tried textures and wave-effect but I still think it's fake Tuts on the net aren't the one I'm looking for.

So who has the really real ribbon tut?

P.S. On another computer I have Photoshop Elements 3.0 so if there's a tut for that programm it's fine too.

Hi Mooncatcher,

i make my real ribbons out of real ribbons, lol. I photograph a ribbon or whatever. Best is the ribbon is in a dark color. I found out that a dark pink / purple. is great. I work with Photoshop CS2 but i think the other programms are simular. the Bow or the ribbon what i then have i change into grayscale and then i search a nice pattern and overlay that ribbon then with it. Sometimes i use the effect multiplie as well. but the overlay effect is better. And what makes the effect as well more realistic then. i first cut the bow in parts. ribbon and bow. the pattern shall not lie then plain over the ribbon. on corners or edges it shall be bit displaced the pattern.
I hope its well explained and u can nevertheless use it with ur programms.

I scan ribbons as well and then play with them. There are commercial use greyscale ones made by really clever people too!! I have to admit then scanning them and then greyscalling them is the easiest way I find. Rikrak...now thats easy...ribbons not so!!
